We celebrate republic day to pay tribute to the freedom fighters for their sacrifices. The republic day parade shows the defense capabilities of the Indian armed forces. This day inculcates in us the feeling of brotherhood, peace and patriotism.
The day brings together people of different casts, creeds, colors and backgrounds to celebrate the occasion with great enthusiasm. The ceremony proceeds with a 21-gun salute, singing of the national anthem, and hoisting of the national flag. The brave soldiers are presented with the Paramvir Chakra, Ashok Chakra, and Vir Chakra. Mini Story on "ਅਰਮਾਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਕਤਲ" shared by Prof. Gagandeep Kaur Sahi

Michael Faraday- Science and Technology shared by Prof Rajinder
Michael Faraday
A self-taught scientist, Michael Faraday (1791-1867) excelled in chemistry and
physics to become one of the most influential thinkers in history. He's
· been called the "father of electricity," (Nikola Tesla and Thomas Edison also wear that crown) and his appetite for experimenting knew no bounds. "Nothing is too wonderful to be true, if it be consistent with the laws of nature; and in such things as these, experiment is the best test of such consistency," he wrote. Faraday discovered laws of electromagnetism, invented the first electric motor, and built the first electric generator-paving the way for our mechanized age.
· SCIECNE AND TECHNOLOGY
• Science means knowledge
• Technology means the application of
science.
• The first scientific tool was spears and needles. Advancement in every sphere of our lives is the effect of science and technology.
• Without science and technology, we
would still be living in the Stone Age.
• We avail several benefits provided to
us by science and technology. • It has provided us with a comfortable
lifestyle.
• At the same time, it makes our lives
very mechanical.
• Despite some disadvantages of science and technology, the human race is highly dependent on them for survival.

"Career Options after B.A with Political Science" enlightened by Prof Manisha
Career Options after B.A with Political Science
Political science may not
be a professional course, but it will equip you with knowledge and
understanding of how the political scenario functions and will groom your
critical thinking skills. There are a variety of career paths you can pursue
after studying political science, both in govern jobs and in the private sector. Most students think
that a Political Science degree means you want to be a politician, but it can
also lead to many other exciting careers. Here are just a few
1.Civil Services A career in civil services such as the IAS (Indian
Administrative Service) and IFS (Indian Foreign Services) is one of the most
popular choices for those studying political science. The role basically
involves helping the nation run smoothly, influencing the decision making
process and representing India. As many questions from the preliminary and main
civil services exams are based on polity, studying political science will give
you an edge in the exams.
2. Politics A career in politics has been gaining popularity with more young
people joining the field in recent times. You can work as a politician
directly, or you can also act as a political analyst or campaign manager
associated with the government or a political party. There is no formal course
to join politics, but a political science degree will help you a great deal.
You can enter the field by volunteering and looking into political parties that
match your ideologies .
3. Law Graduating
in political science will have improved your analytical and critical thinking
skills which will help you in the field of law
4. Political Scientist Another application of the field of political science, the role
of a political scientist involves the study of various aspects of governmental
systems, how cities/countries operate and interact, and the impact of
governmental policies. Apart from examining the present situations, political
scientists also make recommendations for steps that can be implemented. To
become a political scientist, you would need an MA Political Science degree or
PhD.
5. Social Service Social service is another means of helping society and people in
need without having to get into actual politics and bureaucracy. The career
options have grown with the rise in NGOs, government outreach programmes, and
with MNCs establishing Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) departments. To
pursue a career as a social worker or in social services, you can pursue a
Master’s degree in social work after your B.A degree
6. Journalism A vast majority of the news covered in media is related to
politics, and increasing public awareness means more people are interested in
reading the news. B.A Political Science graduates have a thorough understanding
of politics and the political environment which makes them ideal candidates for
media roles such as political journalists, editors, and correspondents. To
enter the media field, you can pursue a post-graduate course in journalism or
mass communication
7. Marketing : Marketing is an
integral part of every business as it connects the supplier with the consumers.
Political science graduates have an understanding of how society functions, and
the flow of power and political systems which are an asset in the field of
marketing. For a career in marketing, you can pursue an MBA or take up
short-term courses/diploma courses in marketing after completing your
graduation.
8. Teaching: If you enjoy the pure study of political science, teaching may
be the right career for you. The popularity of political science as a
discipline is growing and you can teach at school or college levels. To teach,
you will need a master’s degree in Political Science along with a Bed for the
school level, or you will need to clear the UGC NET examination for becoming a
college professor. The study of political science will enhance more than just
your knowledge, but will also boost your critical thinking skills, reasoning
ability, research aptitude, and analytical capabilities

Mathematics Thoughts of great mathematicians- wow so many Mathematicians in just One Document- Article by Prof Inderpreet Singh
Mathematics Thoughts of great mathematicians
Pure mathematics is, in its way, the poetry of logical ideas.
— Albert Einstein, German theoretical physicist
Without mathematics, there’s nothing you can do. Everything around you is
mathematics. Everything around you is numbers.
— Shakuntala Devi, Indian writer and mental calculator
Mathematics is the most beautiful and most powerful creation of the human
spirit.
— Stefan Banach, Polish mathematician
We will always have STEM with us. Some things will drop out of the public
eye and go away, but there will always be science, engineering, and
technology. And there will always, always be mathematics.
— Katherine Johnson, African-American mathematician
Mathematics as an expression of the human mind reflects the active will, the
contemplative reason, and the desire for aesthetic perfection. Its basic
elements are logic and intuition, analysis and construction, generality and
individuality.
— Richard Courant, German-American mathematician
As far as the laws of mathematics refer to reality, they are not certain, and as
far as they are certain, they do not refer to reality.
— Albert Einstein
What is mathematics? It is only a systematic effort of solving puzzles posed
by nature.
— Shakuntala Devi
Mathematics is the music of reason.
— James Joseph Sylvester, English mathematician
Mathematics knows no races or geographic boundaries; for mathematics, the
cultural world is one country.
— David Hilbert, German mathematician
There should be no such thing as boring mathematics.
— Edsger W. Dijkstra, Dutch systems scientist
‘Obvious’ is the most dangerous word in mathematics.
— Eric Temple Bell, Scottish mathematician
Mathematics are the result of mysterious powers which no one understands,
and which the unconscious recognition of beauty must play an important part.
Out of an infinity of designs a mathematician chooses one pattern for
beauty’s sake and pulls it down to earth.
— Marston Morse, American mathematician
Mathematics allows for no hypocrisy and no vagueness.
— Stendhal (pen name of Marie-Henri Beyle), French writer
I’ve always enjoyed mathematics. It is the most precise and concise way of
expressing an idea.
— N.R. Narayana Murthy, Indian IT industrialist
It is impossible to be a mathematician without being a poet in soul.
— Sofia Kovalevskaya, Russian mathematician
A mathematician who is not also something of a poet will never be a
complete mathematician.
— Karl Weierstrass, German mathematician
Mathematics compares the most diverse phenomena and discovers the
secret analogies that unite them.
— Joseph Fourier, French mathematician and physicist
Mathematics is not about numbers, equations, computations, or algorithms: it
is about understanding.
— William Paul Thurston, American mathematician
Somehow it’s okay for people to chuckle about not being good at math. Yet, if
I said “I never learned to read,” they’d say I was an illiterate dolt.
— Neil deGrasse Tyson, American astrophysicist and author
In mathematics the art of proposing a question must be held of higher value
than solving it.
— Georg Cantor, German mathematician
It is clear that the chief end of mathematical study must be to make the
students think.
— John Wesley Young, American mathematician
Go down deep enough into anything and you will find mathematics.
— Dean Schlicter
Nature is written in mathematical language.
— Galileo Galilei, Italian astronomer, physicist and engineer
Mathematics is a language.
— Josiah Willard Gibbs, American scientist
Mathematics has beauty and romance. It’s not a boring place to be, the
mathematical world. It’s an extraordinary place; it’s worth spending time
there.
— Marcus du Sautoy, British mathematician
To me, mathematics, computer science, and the arts are insanely related.
They’re all creative expressions.
— Sebastian Thrun, German innovator, computer scientist and
entrepreneur educator
The essence of mathematics lies in its freedom.
— Georg Cantor
Why do children dread mathematics? Because of the wrong approach.
Because it is looked at as a subject.
— Sofia Kovalevskaya
The study of mathematics, like the Nile, begins in minuteness but ends in
magnificence.
— Charles Caleb Colton, English cleric, writer and collector
Wherever there is number, there is beauty.
— Proclus, Greek philosopher
Life is a math equation. In order to gain the most, you have to know how to
convert negatives into positives.
— Philip J. Davis, American academic applied mathematician
Mathematics is not a careful march down a well-cleared highway, but a
journey into a strange wilderness, where the explorers often get lost. Rigor
should be a signal to the historians that the maps have been made, and the
real explorers have gone elsewhere.
— W.S. Anglin, Mathematics author
The pure mathematician, like the musician, is a free creator of his world of
ordered beauty.
— Bertrand Russell, British philosopher
Just because we can’t find a solution, it doesn’t mean there isn’t one.
— Galileo Galilei
Pure mathematicians just love to try unsolved problems — they love a
challenge.
— Andrew Wiles
I’ve always been interested in using mathematics to make the world work
better.
— Alvin E. Roth, American academic
I hope that seeing the excitement of solving this problem will make
mathematicians realize that there are lots and lots of other problems in
mathematics which are going to be just as challenging in the future.
— Paul R. Halmos, Hungarian-American mathematician
It’s fine to work on any problem, so long as it generates interesting
mathematics along the way — even if you don’t solve it at the end of the day.
— Andrew Wiles
You don’t have to be a mathematician to have a feel for numbers.
— John Forbes Nash, Jr., American mathematician
Sometimes the questions are complicated and the answers are simple.
— Dr. Seuss, American children’s author
The essence of math is not to make simple things complicated, but to make
complicated things simple.
— Stan Gudder, American mathematician
