Special Awareness Programme Organised at Lyallpur Khalsa College, Kapurthala to Mark International Youth Day



A special awareness programme dedicated to International Youth Day was organised at Lyallpur Khalsa College, Kapurthala by the NSS Unit, Red Ribbon Club, and My Bharat Kendra, Kapurthala. The main objective of the programme was to sensitise the youth towards their social, cultural, and national responsibilities.

On this occasion, Madam Gagandeep Kaur, District Youth Officer, My Bharat, Kapurthala, Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. The Principal of the college, Dr. Baldev Singh Dhillon, warmly welcomed the Chief Guest by presenting her with a floral bouquet.

Addressing the students, Dr. Baldev Singh Dhillon highlighted the importance of youth power, social responsibility, and the role of young people in nation-building. He stated that the youth are an important foundation of the country's progress. He emphasised that, in the present times, along with education, it is equally important for young people to focus on skill development, the responsible use of technology, creative thinking, and participation in social service.

During the programme, students participated in various activities and conveyed messages encouraging the youth to engage in education, skill development, environmental protection, de-addiction, and social service.

The Chief Guest, Madam Gagandeep Kaur, while addressing the students, said that the youth are the greatest strength of any nation. Extending her greetings to the students on International Youth Day, she emphasised that young people should be aware not only of their rights but also of their duties and should actively contribute towards the betterment of society.

She further stated that young people possess immense energy and creative potential. If this energy is provided with the right direction and opportunities, the youth can make a significant contribution to the development of the nation. She motivated the students to become responsible citizens and come forward to work for the welfare of society.

At the conclusion of the programme, the students took a pledge to contribute towards social awareness and nation-building. In the end, Prof. Manjinder Singh Johal, In-charge of the Red Ribbon Club and NSS Unit, expressed his special gratitude to the Chief Guest, Madam Gagandeep Kaur, for gracing the occasion. He said that young people can bring about positive change in society by utilising their potential in the right direction.

The programme was successfully conducted with the active support and cooperation of the faculty members and students of the college.
