English Handwriting Competition was organized at Lyallpur Khalsa College, Kapurthala by department of English on 'National Handwriting Day' which takes place on January 23rd every year celebrating the art and personal touch of handwriting. This competition provided an opportunity for the students to display their competency in legible handwriting. More than 50 students participated in this competition enthusiastically. They all were encouraged to present their best handwriting. The competition was judged by Professor Amandeep Kaur Cheema and Professor Vishal Shukla on the basis of neatness, letter formation, space and clarity. Three Best Handwriting were selected. The Names of the winners are :
1. Satbir Kaur (B.COM- II)
2. Amanpreet Kaur (BCA-IV)
3. Sourav (+1)
It was a tough competition as students presented their writing talents very beautifully.
At the end of the competition,
the winners were awarded with the certificates by Principal, Dr. Baldev Singh Dhillon who encouraged all the participants and congratulated the winners. He said that handwriting is an important skill that can help sharpen your brain and improve your memory.Neat, legible handwriting suggests a creative mind, determination for excellence, strong work ethic and an academic success which help secure a prospective vocation and ensure a promising future. He also asked the professors of English department that Competition like these should be arranged at least quarterly because in today's digital world, we tend to record everything on electronic devices but one research shows that writing thing down by hand has benefits that typing doesn't. So try writing a letter, a diary or to-do list by hand and notice the difference for yourself.
