Limelight on "Types of Government" shared by Prof Manisha

                                                            Types of Government

1. Democracy: Democracy is a form of government that allows the people to choose leadership. A      government where the majority makes the decisions by voting.

2. Dictatorship: Rule by a single leader who has not been elected and may use force to keep control. Usually, there is little or no attention to public opinion or individual rights.

3. MONARCHY:   In a monarchy, one family rules, and their title is passed down through the generations.

4. AUTHORITARIAN GOVERNMENT:  In an authoritarian regime, the government has total control. Authoritarian regimes have typically earned this control by forceful means.

 5. Parliamentary: This system is led by representatives of the people. Each is chosen as a member of a political party and remains in power as long as his/her party does

6. Totalitarian government: it takes absolute power to the extreme. These leaders control not only the government but also the personal lives of their people.

7. In an Aristocracy, the wealthy or noble hold the power. These privileged few leaders make up the ruling class or elite.

8. Oligarchy: A government where decisions are made by a group known as the "elite" (intelligence/race/money).

9. Theocracy: A government where laws are made by god, but interpreted by a religious figure

10. Oligarchy: Similar to a monarchy, an oligarchy places power with a few people or families, typically a country’s wealthy elite. Unlike aristocracy, oligarchy is not necessarily dependent on noble birth, but on wealth or those who are deemed most “capable” of ruling
