Hind di Chadar “Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji”

Guru Tegh Bahadur was born Tyag Mal on 1 April 1621 in Amritsar, Punjab. He was the youngest son of Guru Hargobind, the sixth Sikh guru. He was a spiritual scholar and a poet whose 115 hymns are included in Sri Guru Granth Sahib, the main text of Sikhism. He had one elder sister and four brothers. From a young age, he was trained in the martial arts of archery and horsemanship. He also received religious training from Baba Buddha and Bhai Gurdas. Guru Tegh Bahadur was executed on the orders of Aurangzeb, the sixth Mughal emperor, in Delhi, India. For supporting the Hindu Pandits by resisting these forced conversions, and for himself refusing to convert to Islam, Guru Teg Bahadur Ji was publicly executed via beheading at the imperial capital of Delhi on the orders of Emperor Aurangzeb. Sikh holy premises Gurudwara Sis Ganj Sahib and Gurdwara Rakab Ganj Sahib in Delhi mark the places of execution and cremation of Guru Tegh Bahadur. His martyrdom is remembered as the Shaheedi Divas of Guru Tegh Bahadur.

ਧਰਮ ਵਾਲੀ ਚਾਦਰ ਤਾਣ ਦਿੱਤੀ

ਪੂਰੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰਾਂ ਪੂਰੇ ਹਿੰਦ ਉੱਤੇ
ਐਸੀ  ਧਰਮ ਵਾਲੀ ਚਾਦਰ ਤਾਣ ਦਿੱਤੀ
ਸਬਰ, ਨਿਡਰਤਾ ਦੇ ਹਥਿਆਰ ਦਿੱਤੇ
ਸਿਦਕ ਵਾਲੜੀ ਚਾੜ੍ਹ ਕੇ ਪਾਣ ਦਿੱਤੀ

ਜ਼ੁਲਮ ਧਾਰਿਆ ਰੂਪ ਔਰੰਗਸ਼ਾਹ ਦਾ,
ਜਿੱਥੇ ਜੀਅ ਕਰਦਾ ਜ਼ੁਲਮ ਢਾਹੀ ਜਾਂਦਾ
ਹਿੰਦੀ ਭੋਲੜੇ ਭਾਲੜੇ ਪੰਛੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ,
ਸਖ਼ਤ ਪਾ ਫਾਹੀਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਫਾਹੀ ਜਾਂਦਾ
ਜੇ ਕੋਈ ਖੰਭ ਫੈਲਾਉਣ ਦੀ ਕਰੇ ਹਿੰਮਤ,
ਬੇਦਰਦ ਹੋ ਖੰਭੜੇ ਲਾਹੀ ਜਾਂਦਾ
ਜਿੱਧਰ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਉਹ ਹੜ੍ਹ ਦੇ ਵਾਂਗ ਜਾਂਦਾ,
ਕੰਢੇ ਤੋੜ ਕੇ ਕਰੀ ਤਬਾਹੀ ਜਾਂਦਾ

ਸਤਿਗੁਰਾਂ ਸਰੀਰ ਦਾ ਬੰਨ੍ਹ ਲਾ ਕੇ,
ਕੰਧ ਧਰਮ ਦੀ ਉਹਨੂੰ ਨਾ ਢਾਣ ਦਿੱਤੀ
ਪੂਰੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰਾਂ ਪੂਰੇ ਹਿੰਦ ਉੱਤੇ
ਹੈਸੀ ਧਰਮ ਵਾਲੀ ਚਾਦਰ ਤਾਣ ਦਿੱਤੀ

ਜਿਹਾ ਰਾਜਾ ਤੇ ਤਿਹੇ ਵਜ਼ੀਰ ਹੁੰਦੇ,
ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਓਦੂੰ ਵੀ ਹੱਦ ਮੁਕਾ ਦਿੱਤੀ
ਸ਼ਾਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਨੂੰ ਖ਼ੁਸ਼ ਕਰਨ ਖ਼ਾਤਿਰ,
ਭੈੜੇ ਲੂਤੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਲੂਤੀ ਲਾ ਦਿੱਤੀ
ਰਲਕੇ ਕਾਜ਼ੀਆਂ ਬਹੁਤ ਬਣਾਏ ਮਸਲੇ
ਅੱਗ ਸੁਲਗਦੀ ਹੋਰ ਮਘਾ ਦਿੱਤੀ
ਬੇੜੀ ਹਿੰਦ ਦੀ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਹੀ ਡੋਲਦੀ ਸੀ
ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਵੱਲ ਮੰਝਧਾਰ ਵਹਾਅ ਦਿੱਤੀ

ਸਤਿਗੁਰਾਂ ਨੇ ਸਿਰੜ ਪਤਵਾਰ ਕੀਤਾ
ਬੇੜੀ ਵੱਲ ਡੂੰਘਾਣ ਨਾ ਜਾਣ ਦਿੱਤੀ
ਪੂਰੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰਾਂ ਪੂਰੇ ਹਿੰਦ ਉੱਤੇ
ਹੈਸੀ ਧਰਮ ਵਾਲੀ ਚਾਦਰ ਤਾਣ ਦਿੱਤੀ
